This thread has been running for three days. Yours just posted so that's why you haven't had much feed back. Give members a little more time and I'm sure you'll get some feedback.

I am just trying to help you. I can sense your frustration. I am not knocking how you do things or that your water in the tank is poor.

When you do water changes, do you add strictly cold water? Or is there even a little bit of hot water from your tank going into your aquarium? This is very important. What you tell me may be why.

I know you are and I didn't mean for my post to come off angry. I had quite of stuff written and when I went to post it I lost everything so I had to go back and re-write it again.

I use a python which is hooked to my kitchen sink. First I dose the tank with Prime (enough for 150g) then I start off with just a little bit of water flowing in, once the water has heated up I increase the amount going in and watch my thermometer(s) to keep my water as close as possible to normal tank temp.

This is the case most of the time, and I have been there myself.

The only two other stressors are tank mates and diet. I don't think it is tank mates, so what are your feeding it?

To me it sounds like the umbee might have gotten the HITH before you bought it. That happened to me on a salvini that I notiiced he has HITH a week after buying the fish. I did one treatment of water meds then feed the sal anti-parasite food, he is cured.

No tankmates.

I feed the same food that I feed my flowerhorn. Hikari bio-gold, Omega One (often soaked in Vita-Chem) and once or twice a week I cut up shrimp or feed Tetra jumbo krill. NONE of my fish have EVER been fed feeders.

Even if they don't look like they don't help, water changes do so much more than you think. Your fish has no signs of hex so I don't know why the heck you were following that thread. Keep using the metro. As for setting up a hospital tank costing the same as meds, well its better to have that tank set up for future cases. It will save you money in the long run.

I was following that thread because I found it through a search for hexamita and HITH which from what I read sometimes go together.

From my experience, the fish will not mind a couple degree drop in temp. They are use to it. When the rains come it lowers the water temp. personally would stop using water from the H2O. f you call your water company, and explain your issue, they should come out and test all of your water. Cold, and hot. I had a huge study done on my water cause I have several expensive, WC, and rare fish. The conclusion to my issue was the metals found in my water tank. No matter what I used, the metals were still visible.
