what is the best remedy for hith? i have my green terror in a hospital tank. been putting in salt and melafix and pimafix? anything else i can do. try to save this fish he has awesome colors but the crater on his head is ugly. it looked like it stopped getting bigger.

Keep clean water. Nitrates under 10ppm and a varied diet. It will go away. No need for other thing as there are no meds that WORK on HITH.

no never fed it goldfish cause of the copper sulfate that they have. made that mistake with an alligator snapping turtle and he died after about a year. the terror did have some rosie red minnows. never really fed my fish that much live food. only 5 times. i switched to massivore delight. it was weird it started like a small white dot and then turned into a hole. started getting bigger rapidly. he has been in the hospital tank for about 2 weeks. pima and melafix plus salt. that is all i have been doing. now the hole stop getting bigger and looks like it is regenerating or starting to grow back. any more advice would help.
I feed my guys Hikari Staple or Gold cichlid pellets as a staple, then play around with variety.

I treated hith with metronidazole and it seemed successful, although I feel that with good husbandry the fish will at least not get worse
