Well she and my grandpa came over today to just to visit. She was asking me what classes i was taking in college. I told her that i am still continuing fire science classes and im still volunteering for my FD. She had the nerves to say a firefighters job is a dumb, low paying, and crazy job because you run into burning buildings. She was comparing me to my cousins who are still in high school saying that they will get a better job than me. She said i was dumb for becoming a firefighter when i had good grades. I told her that even though i had the grades to do something else ive always dreamed of being a firefighter, their pay, and that volunteering made me love it more, but she still said i was crazy and was putting firefighters down. I also told her that we just dont put out fires we do other things like emergency response. For god sakes! My grandpa was saved by a firefighter and she still don't appreciate our job. Hmm... Sorry i just had to rant to someone or something!
Just ignore your step-grandma and follow your dream!
