Hmm Pleco is jumping....any ideas?

IME, gulping air is perfectly normal. I even have an air pump for my tank, and my gibby still does it every once in a while.

That should be "P.S." then "P.P.S." then "P.P.P.S.," not "P.S." then "P.S.S." and so on.
 
Is the wood burnt? I made that mistake and ended up killing my RTC and two terrors that way. I thought it was driftwood but being undereducated on wood i bought African tree root and it was caught in a fire i guess and was releasing harmful levels of carbon into the water.
 
Judging by the test results, it seems your bio filter isn't able to keep up with the waste. It seems cycled, but overstocked as to cause problems. Any amount of ammonia will kill or sicken fish..try to rectify it now. I'd try to do like 50% water changes every day until the ammonia comes down to 0...preferably with a conditioner like amquel+ or prime. Look on craigslist for a larger tank :).
 
As above, even low levels of ammonia over extended periods will give your fish serious problems, you need a bigger filter.

Haha...a 55 will probably be okay for a while, good luck. Maybe put a WTB ad in the MFK classifieds?

Well good news ...no i didnt buy the 150gal but i did pick up a 4'x18"x12" 55gal today. So ill be able to move him over as soon as it cycles,
 
Ahh and one more side note my pleco was apperently hidding under a false identity *aka my lack of knowledge* But was properly ID'd by a fellow MFK member as Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus (Jose pleco or a gold spot pleco)

Nyways cant wait for this tank to b ready so he gets a new home:nilly:

Saw some white spots on one of my tigers and sure as shooting one on my pleco.

So from what I understand it affects the gills as well.
So not only might he be doing it as a habit but me in my "unknowing" , assume it might have to do with the ich as well.

Needless to say im aggravated and trying to remedy the problem asap.
