Hmm... thinking of a DIY viv

do a tree like setting with some chameleons

So far... the suggestions are:

- Tree pythons
- Tree frogs
- Boas
- Day geckos
- Leopard geckos
- Chameleons
- Anole colony
- Blue-tongued skinks
- Naked mole rats (don't ask how this came up)

Any more suggestions with a space of 19" by 76"?

The only requirement is that the creature cannot be fed small mammals.

well then that takes out the boas, and tree pythons.

There are some boas that hunt fish. Some of the tree boas and pythons hunt birds as well.

Yea but in captivity its alot more difficult to have a constant source of birds.

You think a Florida biotope can be replicated in a 1.5' by 8' enclosure? I will see if I can make it larger than that. Most likely it will probably be diagonal with 1.5' being one end and anywhere between 3' to 4' on the other end.

I am thinking of getting a breeding pair of Rough Green snakes (Opheodrys aestivus) with a couple of House Geckos and a few Green Anoles.

I would like to add a couple of tree frogs, but I don't think that will be wise. I am already pushing the mixing with adding an insectivorous snake or two to the successfully-established and trailed idea of housing geckos and anoles.

I know I would be adding roly-polys and springtails to aid cleaning up the tank. Sometimes the springtails will eat whole fecal matter overnight. Other times, I have to pick them out in the morning. I might look into adding some snails as well.
