I would be careful about publicly posting my intent to keep a potential felony count in my tank. If you had a drug stash at home you would not publicly talk about it. Not saying anyone would do anything against the law. But there is no point in giving up your 4th and 5th amendment rights.

I probably overstated a bit. But still... Did you read the thread about the guy that was shipping Piranha to banned states? Several years of probation and a $10,000 fine. I would rather spend my 10 grand on my next monster tank. Also for those that think public sites with screen names afford you privacy from the law, guess again.

Why is so much attention being placed on the color of this gator? It is a rather normal one really. Captive gators are often really dark. Varied theorys and reasons for this and they are not all genetic or have to do with stress. Bit more complex than that..

haha. Well I am considering getting this gator but I don't really have a decent place to put it. Do you guys think that he will destroy my 2 florida gars and 2 silver aros in a 250 gal? They are all about the same size and obviously this wouldn't be a perminint home because the gator will outgrow everyone. but do you guys think it would be okay temporarily? Or should I just pass this time? Im just stoked because I know they are really hard to find here because they are illegal.

the statement in red really answers your own question. if you're not planning on moving homes just to accomodate a fish, i'd skip it. the 400gal u have is also too narrow to be used as a comfortable growout once it's hit 2'. personally i'd skip it. i wouldn't be shouting about the legalities either.
