hey, can we get a pic of your full tank? mine's behaving rather skittish even with the plants, especially when the lights are on. wondering if you've noticed anything similiar?

Thanks a lot for the responses. That's what I figured based on what I've read before, but I just wanted to make sure. I'll get on those changes tonight. Sorry to ask questions that have been answered before.

don't be in this case! you have a very valuable fish that you want to make sure is properly taken care of...better to get active advice in this case and compare it to previous information (which you have already researched). best of luck, and keep us posted!--

I'll take a pic of the tank it's in now tomorrow and the new tank this weekend. mine doesn't seem to really be skittish. It's definitely more at ease with the lights off, but it doesn't freak out at all when I come up to the tank even when the lights are on.

Yeah, for sure. I just wanted to get some more concrete opinions. Thanks...hopefully I won't need luck, but losing this fish would devastate me, so I'll take anything I get.

I threw a few pieces of tilapia in the tank last night and it ate all but one piece. I got it fatheads tonight and saw it eat one. Hopefully it'll eat well and grow as fast as the shortnose I had, which it should and then some. As long as it doesn't grow as slowly as the trop I have...

took a few pix of the whole tank, but nothing turned out well. It's just a 40 breeder w/ black painted back and bottom and nothing else except a couple heaters and a P350.

sorry for the delayed update. Finally moved it in w/ the other gar (only 1 left now :(), SAL and bichirs. Sorry for the bad pictures. It's a good 13"+ now. The growth rate has slowed down, but it's been a couple inches since I've had it w/ a constant supply of feeders. It's in my daughter's room right now, hence the pink curtains, lol.

thanks! guess I need to get some better pix :)

is doing pretty well in it's new environment. Eating well. Still sticks to the top almost exclusively, but it always has. Hope it keeps eating well and puts one some more size fairly quickly.
