HO-MADE CO2

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's about an 1/8 teaspoon of yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. I have quit using the baking soda though, but I don't think the mix produces as long without it. On my 120g I have 3 of the nutrafin systems. I change the mix on one every week, so each unit gets change every 3 weeks. The only thing I cant tell you is how much sugar is in the mix(I'll measure this week end though).

well to start off the main chamber is a 1.89L juice jug its quite thick and i assumed it had a sealing lid....
after about an hour and coming home to the difuser empty so after a little tweaking and making some gaskets out of the spacers from cases of blank dvds now with an almost perfect seal im not actualy sure if its the excess gas from the top of the tank now but im getting about 1 large bubble a minute although i dont have a counter im figuring on making some sort of difusre counter out of 1/8 angle plastic for making shelvs

For tanks over 20 gallons, that are high light setup, I find reaction co2 to be useless. I had 4 2 liter bottles on my 20 gallon producing, and would switch two every week. It's just not worth it to me. Jello co2 reaction is a little better in life time, but still not good enough. My display tank gets 4 bps, and my small plant tank get 2bps.

could you please explain the difference between a jello reaction and the normal yeast CO2
pics will be up this afternoon
