that will work fine , also ,plastic scrubbies you find at the grocery (dollar ) store work ok and do a little mech. filtration too
Yup, I did the opposite, I use my fx5 for bio, its full of it all 3 baskets, but I still have the huge foam bricks on it, and my ac110 is packed full of filter pad and floss for strictly mechanical.
I have used a lot of different bio, fluval bio max breaks down kinda quick, so I love api Chem stars, very efficient but a little pricey.
