From what I've seen, HOB overflow boxes designs slightly vary.
There are the silent stationary ones and the other type that allows you 2 drop the box in front so that the water level can be dropped a couple inches.
Are there any overflows that would allow u to drop the level even more?
(Like several inches for an Arow?)
I'm not interested in drilling a hole in glass so this would be my only option(if it exists)?

could you build one of the pvc versions but change the design a bit? all i can think of...

I just finished a PVC overflow very easy to setup and control water level, don't have a camera or I would take pictures.

i have a 2" pvc overflow that flows right around 1800gph ;) easy and simple, just use a ball valve to control flow to keep from over powering your pump.

I just put new batteries in my crystal ball, and I see bad things about to happen.

no bad things happening any time soon. i wasnt recommending that he used 2" i was just stating my own use for an over the side overflow. mine happens to be a balanced load where it will lose its syphon at the same time the lower section of my pond fills to the brim.

umm... overflows CAN NOT overpower the pump.... function matches the name.. OVERFLOW... if its not above the "line" it will not go to the sump... aka.. if the pump does not put it there.. it will not end up in the sump...

pumps however can 100% outwork overflows
