Looks like a hog to me. Just washed out really. Dim the lights a bit and darken up the background. That will make all the difference.

I'd have to agree with the majority here. The original photo is likely not Hogaboomorum...but more than likely another amphilophus species. Juvenile hogoaboomorum rarely get that nuchal hump. A good indicator of sex is the background coloration. At around 4-5" females will have a noticeably red background, while males will be more dark cream colored. Photos of a female and male F0 are attached.

Just got some baby hogas off Aquabid. I'm excited to seem them grow! Supposedly they, along with Lyonsi, are the most peaceful of the Amphilophus.
