so i think my red severums have hole in the head i want to know whats the best way of treating it and what i should do. i went to the pet store and the guy told me to put penicillin in it so i started that yesterday i dont think that is the best way so someone help ill post pictures soon.

they are all eating fine and acting the same as normal in fact one of them was just laying eggs so idk what i could be my only thought is that it is over population of the tank

Do you have any better pics? What's the tank size? If you do have popeye, but the eye is not cloudy, do daily water changes and see if anything improves. Penicillin isn't something you jump to right away. How long has the presumed HITH been around?

i dnt see anything that looks like hith...maybe your pic>>> but good water changes and some extra salt will help heel it.. I seperated all my other fish out the tank and just treated the ill 1 in the same tank just to lower stress from the others

Yea that picture is crap there's like 4 or 5 of them that looks like they have it and they all are really active fish its hard to get a good picture. They have had it for like a week now and i do think that it was poor water quality and over population. There are about 15 severums in the tank all ranging from 2 to 5 inches. There in a 110. I didn't have a chance to change the water for like 3 weeks and then I started seeing this. I normaly do weekly water changes because I no its over populated. I have done a water change on Sat. And last night I read somewhere to do a water change every 3 days to help cure it temp. Is 83ish and i added salt ill try to get better pics when I get home.
