I just got given a 45cm+ Mono, when i picked him up this afternoon i noticed she had a few rather large holes in the side of her head. i put her in my 470g tank raised the temp to around 29°c and put in a load of almond leaves. Is there any thing else i can do to clear this up. Her prevoius owner said it started after her mate died she was moping around, she still eats everything that was put in the tank (krill, hering, sand eels and goldies)
heres hoping for a solution.

Mfg Peter

My understanding from the previous owner was that stress caused it, im hoping that the new tank which is 4 times larger than his previous one will help. ill post pictures tomorrow dont want to turn the light on now keeping it in the dark for the first 12 hours.

i vve seen older cichla get HITH , and from poor water conditions , and stress
how old is the bass?
also post a pic

HITH from my understanding takes a very long time to recover. My jag had a few holes on his head it nearly took me 1+ year to get everything gone and not noticeable. All I did was feed my Jag pellets higher the temperature and added more salt. It was a very long process but It worked.
