Last year we had our elf go fishing in our tank with a chop stick, some string, an plastic ornament. My little ones loved it!

Cute ideas, yesterday we had him just looking down thru the glass lid on the fry tank. I will try the fishing and hands stuck in the lid next.
The fish food spilled makes sense also, as my 2 year old somehow gets ahold of the goldfish food and dumps it weekly, my 8 year old swears is out of reach.

Lol My 2 year old does the same. She seems to love the taste of tropical fish flakes. Here a pic of our elf fishing. I just poked a hole in the fish food lid an stuck chop stick in.
