Why is Hollywood video closing down? Thats the only place i rent my movies ever since i was 4 years old. Its sad to see Hollywood video go. Do any of you guys know if Hollywood video is just shutting down some locations or all locations?

I think it was selected locations. They closed down a few here in town. But the other ones remain. They better not close down, shoot I've got a year of free rentals.

So does my girlfriend! haha! It better be only selected locations...

Happening with blockbuster too.The blockbuster in my town shut down a most in nearby towns did the same.Guess they couldn't compete with red box.however blockbuster is putting there own kiosks up.

They closed all of them here years ago. All the video stores are going away. Between Netflix and piracy why bother renting from a store?

I think you must be in one of the few places that still has Hollywood video. They used to be all over but I have not seen one in a long time.

Probably just temporary so they can change the name and not have to pay out all those free for a year videos.:D

Ha ha.. I was thinking of when they all disappeared from Jacksonville when I wrote my first comment. Have not come across one since.

There are actually Hollywood Videos still around? lol They're all gone down here. Before that it was 16,000 movies. Next it will be Blockbuster. Then all that will be left is online sales and redboxes. Out with the old. In with the new
