There are actually Hollywood Videos still around? lol They're all gone down here. Before that it was 16,000 movies. Next it will be Blockbuster. Then all that will be left is online sales and redboxes. Out with the old. In with the new

Is ''redbox'' supposed to be like the rental version of ''redtube''???

People seriously still rent movies from a store?

Yes they are closing them all. They are currently selling off the stock from indevidual stores as they close to a wholesaler in Canada.

I own a Hollywood video or, I'm the landlord. They've been through bankruptcy twice now, ch. 11 and 13. They've stopped paying rent for a year now and the property tax, though they are still operating. Their lease expires in 2011 and they just sent paperwork saying that they want to re-negotiate BUT, unfortunately for them, I just signed a contract with Buffalo Wild Wings which should oust Hollywood and keep me solvent for the next 15-20 years. Good ridence and pay the damn taxes, deffered maintainance and, back rent!

good riddance! i hate hollywood video. damn nickel and dime you to death. i liked blockbuster better, but now its netflix FTW :headbang2

If they haven't paid rent in a year, you should have evicted them a long time ago.

Hollywood video has been out of Indy for about three years.

Nothing but Netflix for me. I refuse to go back to Family Video as they still think I need to pay late fees for a movie I didn't rent.:irked: Besides, Netflix is way cheaper with no late fees.

Redbox just is a big box (like a big vending machine) that is stocked with DVD's that you swipe your credit card to rent, they charge you a dollar a day. If you dont return it in 20 days they charge you 20 bucks and you now own it. I think its owned by McDonalds

There is only one Hollywood Video left in my town. I went there about 6 years ago and never went back. The parking lot is usually empty when I drive by and I usually think to myself, " I am surprised they are still open."

Well, here's the deal with that. I haven't been part of the BK so I can still demand backrent and taxes. Also, having a vacant building is a target for graffitti guys, metal thieves and, homeless. Which are all calls you dread at 5 am. I'd much rather have a warm body in the building. But yeah, once things are 100% with Buffalo, they will get their "walking papers."
