Never heard a proctologist refer to him or herself as a butt doctor but then,I have never actually been in the company of a proctologist.Fish keepers is informal, Aquarist is formal. Aquarist makes it sound like you are trying to make yourself seem better than someone, especially if they are lower class. thats why "Fish Keeper" is understandable to anyone.
For the same reason why Proctologists refere to themselves as "Butt Doctors"

Also, the article is very well written and mostly true. except I hate how they always refere to parrot cichlids as not being able to eat, swim or engage in normal social behaviours being deformed etc. those are the early fish from 20 years ago. I've never came across parrots that bad quality. they are usually spunky fish that are territorial and can hold their own. I wish people would just dispell that myth entirely
Good article, I made a small change (Parrot to Blood Parrot) ever since picking up a Parrot (hoplarchus psittacus) so now it drives me crazy when people refer to Blood Parrots as Parrots. Suprisingly my very first wiki edit.
As far as what I call myself when it comes to keeping fish; I usually just refer to myself as a "fish guy" as I know many of you have been refered to as that: fish guy/gal.
