Hello all i have a pair of GT's in my 75g and i woke up yesterday morning and there were a whole cloud of fry around my female GT. At first i thought that they were guppies as i bought a few the day before and maybe i got a pregnant one, and then i realised all the guppies were gone and mama was tending to them. i never noticed eggs before and like 2 weeks ago i rearranged the tank. both of the parents are small, i didn't think that they were mature, but how wrong i was. I have never had any fish spawn before is there any advice for me that you might have?
should i remove the fry?, the parents? what do I feed them? should i let nature take its course? i don't have another tank cycling right now but i could.... attached is a pic. the female is maybe 3 inches and the male is probably 4. the only tankmates are an orange seam pleco and a synodontis(sic) catfish that are both juvenile.
everybody at MFK has been totally cool i really appreciate all of the help you've given me in the last couple weeks, and i look forward to hearing from you

Cheers

Actually, your photo is better than the version I resized, as yours shows the (fascinating) details really well. But man, if it could fit on the screen properly, it would be really cool.

More (proper sized) pix! More! Keep us posted!

i didn't realise how big the pic was until the post went up, but by then it was too late, thanks for the advice. although it is really detailed, eh?

Cheers

nice breeding job. i recently got a few juve gt's, hopefully i can get a breeding pair out of it.

leave them in there. If they lived this long let them go. If you take them out the parents will have more. They will eat broken up bits of what the parents eat. momma will chew up her food and spit it at the babies.

Thats freakin awesome man!! I just got a breeding pair from a LFS. Im hoping my water params are good enough to get their freak on.

GOOD LUCK.. Keep us posted. I really am interested in this whole thing.
