As far as american cichlids, top three would have to be (no order)
1. Massive adult male dovii
2. Massive adult male umbie
3. Both of them in the same tank....... An extremely large tank with other
aggressive americans....parachromis, amphilophus, vieja....

When you're talking monster cichlids, how much bigger can it get?

what all would u consider the holy grail of CA/SA cichlid keeping. here would be my top three holy grails
1. super large super aggressive dovii
2. super large super aggressive black nasty
3. A great breeding pair of Vieja Argentea.

So what do you all think? give me ur "holy grails" or cichlid keeping

I'm working on your 1 and 2, but mine aren't real big yet. I'd say next I'd like for a 10-12 inch grammodes, and I'm working on that too. I'd like a beani for sure one day and hopefully these guys with them now can get them bred. The ones that have them certainly seem capable.

I'm pretty satisfied with the fish in my sig.

I think the most comon though would be male doviis i mean alot of people like em.

Out of the new world cichlids, it would definitely be a monster Dovii or Umbee. At large sizes those fish are show stoppers.
