Round two after letting the test tubes and caps sit in the tank for a day. About to do a %50 wc daily and pray that I can get them down at least to a piece of mind level.

All of those "spots" you see on the top of the water. Nothing has died. I watch them every time they eat and there are zero scraps left over.

Just finished a 50% WC(last one was sunday). Going to cut off blood worms too. I'll stick with Hikari for now.
 
I test every few days(extremely anal about things lol)

weird. what are you using to aerate the water? I will get that from time to time without any agitation of the surface of the water, but it's not spots, more like a film. yours almost looks like some top ramen spilled in or something!!:D

I can't tell by photo. but IMO, water surface should be moving or agitated enough so no "film" can be standing on top, no matter what. that's what I do., might help your problem. ?
