Home breed Platinum delhezi and my selection dels.

Sucks that they don't keep the external gills as adults. I love how it looks like a baby axolotl atm. How long does it usually take for em to reabsorb their external gills? I've only ever had an ornate myself and he was already reabsorbing his gills at 2in. Also, yours being a delhezi, do you think it will keep the adult body pattern as it matures or lose it entirely since it's platinum?
They usually get between 6~12 months but one of mine has 2 years till she was 35cm.
And that platinum one is losing it's pattern and turn to pure white color shortly

The
Do they normally follow a different growth pattern?
Most of platinun usually grow very slow with deformed headshapen bodyshape or waved finlets because of their genetic defects.

But there is rarely seen some platinum fish with out any genetic defects except color and they grow just like normal fish with normal body, headshape and finlets.

Right now they are in a divided 75 for grow out but will eventually be moved to a 125

Mine grew from 5” to 10” in around 5 months. I kept them in a 300 gallon tank at that time though. Right now my del is 12” and has been this size for about a year now.
