I use the orange home depot buckets all the time. I havn't had any problems filling them all the way up. I have been using the same buckets for more than a year.

I have never had a problem with home depot buckets either. I bought them because we only had the big spackle buckets (family was in construction, lots of old stuff from when the business closed) but they are DEFINATLY not fish safe. Either use brand new 5 gallon buckets or salt buckets from CoralLife, SeaChem, Instant Ocean, ect

What is funny about that is that Ryobi power tools are made by Milwaukee tools. My milwaukee tool set wouldn't quit if I dropped an elephant on them. :D

To all that have had good success with these buckets, that is good to hear, but you really should go buy a bucket from ace hardware. Their buckets will hold the full amount of water, and won't collapse at all. Much stronger buckets, and only 0.50-1.50 more than a home depot one.

Yea, you are right the Ace buckets are a lot nicer. Especially when dripping small fish from a shipment. The treatment from the water in the HD buckets make fish so hard to find since home depot buckets are orange and orange buckets and blue water make black.

Haha, I never dripped in a HD bucket, but that is hilarious! :D Good to know though.

Yea, if you ever get fish in with the blue treated water (which is every fish I have ever had to recieve accept for Needlefish and Cardninal tetras) use white buckets. With bigger fish it wouldn't be a problem, but African Dwarf frogs, danios, and other small fish are invisible. You go to dump out the bucket and you find part of your order.

I have about 10 cat litter buckets that i use and they have never failed me yet, i just wash em out and use em!!:D
