Home fire, 600 gallon acrylic tank melted

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry man! I'd be devastated if I lost my 2 cats and 2 tanks, can't imagine how you feel.

Did you ever find the cause? To be honest this is my worst fear, a splash on my power bar, a spark, and then... Sometimes this monster fish game seems a bit too risky for me cuz I'll be the first to say I am not smart with my electrical.

Wow is about all I can say!
First time reading this post as I'm still a newer member. I'm sorry for your loss. Even though your rebuilding nothing can replace the loss you have suffered. I hope your wife and daughter have recovered from such a tragic experience.
The new house looks amazing and I'm sure everyone will have more peace of mind once your moved in a settled a bit.
Oh Man can I just add how jealous I am of the new tank and an entire fish room completely dedicated to the "hobby"! With a build like that I wouldn't call your fish a hobby anymore but more like a "way of life" ...lol
I hope 2014 continues to bring your family more blessings!
Good luck - Amber

The investigator said it was the power strip controlling the LED lights but that makes no sense, a fuse would have shut that down it was not a cheap power strip, also it was at 3 am in the morning, lights were off. I don't think I will ever know....

The build slowed down after the frame was up or maybe we were just impatient, the inspection of the electrical, ac and plumbing took awhile.

My two outside dogs survived the fire, after 8 months being boarded, they are finally home (since the water and outside fence was built we wanted to move them in to get adjusted plus we missed them alot)

Thanks again for everyone's support and concern, we see a light at the end of the tunnel finally, we can't wait to get out of the apartment.

What an Incredible upbeat outlook you have had during this time. I hope your wife and daughter have recovered from this tragic accident. Also thats a badass tank.. I'm also very Dissapointed in ATM.I think they could have stepped up and helped you with a new tank..

Looks awesome. I'm happy for ya. I'm sure that with everything you have going on this site is low on your priority list but I definitely appreciate the updates. Thank you for sharing.
