um... do you mean graphite?...:screwy: lol. and i have a few designs and i know for hte pole now and i just have to find out a reel to make. i have a few designs but i havnt tried it yet so... lol

no i meant a steel fishing rod as an example of a rod that has no sensitivity

Why not just buy the materials?

Well you could use a large theard spool and just fasten a handle and build a self-contand bract and screw it to the pole.

well i tried it but i cant get hte eyelets made of wire to stay on so im going to try again with electrical tape and the reel is made out ofa large spool that ned hte tin can fixed on it so im going to redo it sometime so wish me luck ^__^

there realy isnt much to do in iowa any way but the winter just sucks the only fishing you can do here in the winter time is below a hydro dam so the water is thawd and warm any way back to the subject at hand ive used 10 foot metal cb antanas as poles reels are another story so simple to make and work on and yet you have me stumped on what house hold items you can use

to keep eyes on try using fiber glass resen over thread esntaly what the use at the factory

I was thinking to widdle a tree branch thats thick at the bottom and nice and thin at the top of course you could make a reel out of one of those kite reeler-inners :) you can also use those screws with circular things on the top (dont know what its called) as eyes, good luck and tight lines :D

Bamboo would be much stronger
