I had some lezzie oscars forever ago, both would lay eggs...then eat them.
Did ya ever see the article about the two dude penguins in the zoo and would steal eggs to raise? Eventually the zoo keepers gave them an egg the parents rejected and they reared the baby. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8081829.stm

I had 2 female rams while I was trying to find quality males from a different source. They ended up laying eggs, taking turns guarding them, then eating them together... it was pretty funny at the time because one of them had a messed up fin which made it look like she had spiked hair so to speak. She was also the bigger of the two.
