I, like many others, have had an eye on these fish for a long while now. Mo, you've done a great job documenting them and, as with the numerous other species that you photograph, you've highlighted their best traits in the images you post here on the forum.
I think that we can all say that Parachromis managuense is a beautiful, under-appreciated species.

Just to keep the thread alive. Here's another really nice picture of the large male.

Is this typical coloration found in your average managuense sp. Honduras or is the photo enhanced a bit? I've owned and seen several Jags that look as good as the spec in the vid, but never have I seen the likes of this. Amazing.

because they collected them in the wild

Correct. We did collect these in Honduras. Others have them. I sold a dozen at this years convention. Also sent a few to a friend over on WW. Ken' wild male died. I called him first to see if he wanted the lone male, but didn't hear back...so I sold them. I actually have two small 1 1/2" fry that I found in the pond. I'm going to grow those out and see what they look like...plus I have a new batch of fry. Part of the reason they aren't out there is that I'm just not as active selling fish.

Yes. All I can say is that you should hear from the folks who have visited my fishroom and have seen them first hand. To be fair, there is a LOT OF LIGHT on those photos... lit from above and below...shot at a very slow ISO, very high aperture...all to get the most detail.

Maybe George will chime in. He saw the pair I have breeding now and can attest to the coloration.

Thanks for the reply Mo. I think that the traffic on this thread shows just how interested people are in these fish due, in a large part, to the amazing photos in your threads.
I, for one, would snatch some up if they were ever available to me.

oh and there the only people that trapped fish there huh wow, i'm done:WHOA:, honduras isnt even closed, just wow!!!!!

You have to understand how the fish are collected and divided to understand the logistics here. We all collected fish during the trip. All of the fish are kept in containers and cleaned out with water changes the entire time we were there. (Thank You Ken :D) At the end of the collecting trip we all get together and decide what our priority fish will be. Some took the Managuense, some didn't. I am sure that other folks took some home. Whether or not they still have them I couldn't say. Seems like you are having a tough time with the concept.

You are always welcome George. Thanks for helping support the Fishroom Mold remidation project. LOL Glad yours spawned already. What is it...a week? LOL
