i didnt start with a nano, i started with 55, and that was even to small for me.nitrofish1;3449255; said:did u pack it with fish and coral?
is that a monthly water change with a coral-only tank?
i had a tang, a maroon, 5 damsels, blenny in it. i wanted more tangs, tangs are a pretty heavy bioload as there herbivores. my lighting was vho(dont really make those anymore) it let me keep frogspawn, zoas, and shrooms, easy stuff.
really it was easy for me to stock as then marine animals were half the price they are now.
that wasnt enough for me i got a 90 gallon, tank probably put atleast 2 grand into that tank over the years, alot went to mistakes. now my dad has it now as my floor started to sag(water damage from accidents).
right now im exploring freshwater as it has alot of new fish since i left it 5 years ago.
anyway to your next question.
i would change some monthly. but test for nitrates regularly. eventually its likely your tank will get enough anerobic spots that you wont have anymore nitrates.
i would still do water changes once in a while to replace minerals for the corals.
also i would get the calc and magnesium tests and supplements. as those are the most important for corals
