Honeycomb moray experience and advice

I was just going to say dont bother getting one till i saw who it was that was asking. Never thought i would be telling you something.
I have never owned one but have had them at my work. I have owned a 2' undulated and a roughly 30" fimbriate and i thought they where aggressive eels till i saw the tess. They are very predatory especially on other eels and also quite territiorial if anything annoys them or tries coming in the hideout the quicky get chased off.
Like any other eel though if well fed in a big tank i would still try to add big tankmates if it where me.
They get up to 6' so i wouldnt go off the tank size for a 2' one because given 6 months you would need a new tank. Since your asking ide say atleast 2' wide and 4' long to allow for abit of growth would be ok. Ide say atleast a 8lx2hx3w would be needed for a full grown one and it should really be bigger.
They are also very strong. Even my guys could move around 7kg rocks (not sure of pnds) by wiggling between it and other rocks or the glass so ide hate to think what a full grown tess could move.

And salinity just same as any full marine tank roughly 1.022- 1.025. You can go abit lower if you dont want any corals or anything which seems to help things like ich and whitespot although im guessing you dont have that many problems with stuff like that anymore.
yeah the doms.given above are ok but bigger is always better cause they needroom for the rocks to hide in. the cavity they create has to house the eel and the rocks big enough to not be moved are really wide so as big as you can is the best answer.
the tanks you were talking about sounded good, if youre who i think you are, than id definetly not consider any tank mates, that is one mean mean eel, he tried to get out today again. im just waiting to hear when he chomps down on simon or adam. they ge a little to brave with him. that tesselated is probably the coolest meanest fish ive seen at the store in a long time, well except for the little marroon clown that head buts us when we put our hands in the tank. not like i have to tell you, the bigger the tank, the better the fish looks swimming around, when he is swimming around. as far as tank mates, im guessing cleaner wrasse. lol. by the way, if youre not who im thinking you are, than ignore everything ive just said, cuz itll make no sense.
