I stumbled across this picture while browsing fishing pictures. How would you go about removing the lure from this guy?

it probably just has one big front facing hook in it, so the fish is probably hooked in the roof of the mouth so you would have to push the lure in to the fishes mouth a little farther to get the hook out

sorry that was so long but i hope it answers your question

Thats nothing to bad. The top water swimbaits are worse.
This was my swimbait but I lost it the other. Its a 7inch bait and it cost me 40. I changed out the hooks to owner 1/0 stingerhooks. And there huge.

I mash the barbs off of the treble hooks on spinners and rapalas anymore. Actually, just about any lure.

I fish more with my kids, and you know how that goes with hooks, and I also enjoy how much easier it is to unhook fish. I don't think I lose anymore fish to throwing the hook either.

I flatten the barbs on all my lures. Not a big fan of treble hooks. If a lure has trebles, I'll cut one of the hooks off the rear treble and remove the front treble(s) all together. Does make it easier to release a fish. I now fish mostly soft plastics with single hooks and spinnerbaits.
