and yeah the red on their faces was something i wasn't aware of and the red makes 'em look just marvelous

some shots when they were in my 65 (used to be in my 90):

you can see how they tend to loose some of the silvery glow and the red as they get really old. they tend to get darker as they age.

my fish were really showing it at the end when I had to sell them

but for about the first 10 years or so, they were very vibrant. it was only in the last year or so that they lost of bit of the brightness..
