Hooking Shiners?

I was wondering how to hook a shiner on a Fishing Pole without killing it. I was planning to go fishing but I want to keep the Shiner alive to attract the BIG fish. I know it's not Aquarium Related but i'm really interested in knowing. Thanks!

right throught the front lips careful not to get to close to the head. In the meat right above the tail. right under the fin on the top of the fish hooked in the meat.

try hooking it through the bottom lip and out through one of the nostrils

through the back works the best it may not live the longest but cathches more fish trust me

Down through the back and up towards the head, the minnow will likely fall off if you hook it through its lips.

use thin wire hooks for panfish you can hook in the lips through the back(be careful not to hit the spinal cord though. Another tip clip half the tail fin off for more erratic motion.

depends how your fishing....drifting or trolling thru ther lips.....still fishing...thru the back by the dorsal
