ok, so the nose is happy now, cruising around the tank in broad daylight (go figure) but my ornate seems to be pinning away. last night he ate like a pig and was his ussual self, now tho he runs away when i come to the glass instead of greeting me like usual. then whenever the nose came close to him he ran away! it seems to me like the nose is taking over the tank and that my personable bichir is now a scardy cat 
. it doesnt seem so much like a ggresiion as it does fear. as much as i like both the nose and my bichir i am really considering separating them for the benefit of the most important fish, my bichir. any suggestions?
