Thanks. My piranha tank came with a plant background. I can put it up with the 55. Have to pick up some fakes.. all my plants went into the new 150 gal.

Thanks for the advice.. I'm really excited they seem like really great fish from the people who keep them. I like the combination of aggressive and pretty with the strong personalities they seem to have.

The store near me has a real big guy who chases fingers and figure 8's in his tank. Very cool.
 
Welcome to FH's. I love all the ones that I have. The gravel all depends on which type of FH you go with. Red Dragons prefer red and white gravel, their colors are much better with it. I prefer natural but it is not always better for the fish. I have mixed colored and natural gravel and it looks pretty sweet. I also do not put plants in with mine because they just end up digging them up. FH's are natural diggers like their CA ancestors.
 
I had someone tell me that a male and female will be able to get along if you keep them together from the time of being small. Is this true or possibly just a case by case situation?
