Just want to hear from anyone who has or have owned True parrots and what you think of them. I'm thinking of trying to get a pair for the only other fish to go in my 500g with just a henlei stingray. Thanks for any input!

I ordered one from Snookn21. Great beautiful fish. I have him in a 180 with 3 indo dats, a spotted severum, 24in fire eel, 2 electric blue jack dempseys, and some silver dollars. He runs the tank, but not by any means overly aggressive. I heard males can be hard on their mates though.

I currently have one at 5-6inch(or bigger). Mine is aggressive towards who ever is the samesize as him, or smaller. He is currently my favorite fish.

I just got one a couple days ago....all I can tell you so far is my chocolate does NOT like him...probably because they look alike. I hope they work it out I'd hate to pick one to go.

I agree with this, Anything with a similar shape/temperment and they likely won't work together long term (8"+). I have no experience keeping them with rays but would not be worried about it. Nuclear Followers Association may even be applicable, you'll have to let us know.

My psittacus rules my tank. He's a jerk. I love him anyway. I will definitely agree about the chocolate cichlid thing -- my psittacus hates everyone, but none more than my chocolate cichlid. When they were together, the chocolate cichlid never got any rest. The psittacus chased and attacked him all day. I eventually had to separate them permanently.

The male I used to have was one mean sob. I don't think they will mix well with the henlei.

What is their behaviour like? How personable are they? I've read a few places that they like to hide and make sudden dashes across the tank.

Mine doesn't hide. He is roughly 7" and is always out. For the most part he does not care about his tankmates. Every once in a while he takes a shot at my oscar which is thre or so inches larger than him.
