i have some true parrot cichlids in my tank . i want to add more cichlids but not sure what kind of cichlids . im looking for mid to top swimmers ..what would you prefer for bottom feeders synodontis or clown loaches ...what kind of synodontis do you think looks the best...i've been hearing mixed answers about loaches some say that they will just get stressed out and some say i should be okay ..

what do you recommend to get more colors out of my parrots .. im just feeding then dainichi pellets ...color supreme ..how long do they take to get full grown

thanks hope i get a lot of input thanks

What size is your tank?

agreed...need to know tank size first. Clown loaches will be fine as long as they are not too small. I have 4 large loaches in my tank and have had them forever. They have never had a problem in regards to stress. Just give em places to hide if need be. As for mid to top swimmers, check out some giant danios or buenos aires tetras.

i have a 75 gal tank ..with three parrots in it .. two aqua clear 110's...is there any other nice cichlids i could add ...or any other fish that you folks recommend ...thanks

arent giant danios or buenos aires tetras to small wouldnt the parrots eat them

i have a 125 waiting on the side just have to make room for it and make a stand oh and a filter lol ..

how much do severums usually run for

anyone else????????????

My parrot is with a gold sev and does fine along with silver dollars and some CA growouts. He also had an Oscar and a Flagtail in with him for a while and had no issues. I am going with some different fish right now and he doesn't quite fit the theme but gets along fine at this point. He is the largest of the cichlids at 6.5" but gets along fine with all the CA growouts that are around 3". The real test will be if he can hold his own with these others when they get bigger. His tankmates will be a hoga, bifa, freddy and bleekeri. This is in a 210g so there is a bit of space for them all. The 125g you have will allow for more options.

I believe parrots color up as they mature, not babies.
