As they get larger they are often pushy and aggressive. They are also very large fish so you'll want a big tank. The more room they have, the better off you'll be. Even single parrots in a community tank will be aggressive toward tankmates. Mine was a single and he dominated the tank. We are currently discussing this in the thread I linked above.

I commented on one of your videos of these fishes offspring. Do you still have some? I would love to get a few for my 265 gallon South American tank.
 
I had one in that shared a tank with and Ornatum and a Midas all about 2 to 3 inches, and Hoplarchus psittacus (Parrot Cichlid) didn't like the Ornatum at all, the Parrot Cichlid would chase the Ornatum until finally I had to get rid of the Parrot Cichlid. I was hoping to raise them up together. I eventually had to separate the Midas as well. I had them in a 100 gallon tank.

I would like to try a Hoplarchus psittacus again, especially as I look at your beautiful pair :)
