I just updated the Wolf thread with the Curupira- He's getting bigger..!

My 2 larger ones are ok and still living happily..ish... with the Curupira. Actually, the Mono is probably the bigger thorn in their side because he steals their food. My Baby Gold is now about 6-7" and in a few months will be able to join the others. It's by far the most aggressive gold i've had and I'm not sure how it'd cope if i added a load more babies to the tank but i may try.

Forgot to ask, where was your Curupira collected from? Mine was from Suriname along with some aimara that i wanted but couldn't afford .

thanks. He's actually so much more personable than he used to be- right now He's watching TV. As they do. He's talking about 100g of prawn and muscle a day at the moment which is 4 times what he used to take.

Like you, I think I want to try for another Curupira but I get the impression it would be a challenge to get more in there. My impression is that, even now, the Species Hoplias Curupira, is, at the very least, split into a number of regional morphs that do not mix well together.

That's what i've been noticing lately, been seeing slightly different features in other curupira posted here such as color, body/mouth shape. But yours my friend takes the crown hands down. Was he ever shy at all in the past? My black tends to hide all day until hes hungry scouting the surface, takes his food and runs back in his cave. I'm starting to think that some curupira max out bigger then 24" & and this might be proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs1wv2x_VrI&NR=1 A lot wolf experts say this is a Curupira not Aimara.

Rio Orrinoco, Venezuela I believe.

I'd love to have an Aimara and, despite every man and his dog getting one, I wish I could house one. I dream of the day I can afford a decent sized house, with double or triple Garage... one side full of fish tanks, the other with car lift and working space to maintain my fleet of cars. (I also dream of the day I can afford a fleet of cars, that aren't all crap).

Alas, I must make do with my flat and living room taken up by fish tanks. And one bloody parking space. Still, women love my big tank... That's not a Euphamism. ;)

I can only feel your pain, as most hobbysts here. Honestly i would seriously consider getting an aimara if not for their killer reputation, for me i just can't imagine myself with 1 fish in a big tank. Yea that's what you think, wait until you get a jacuzzi
