Had one some years ago in another aggressive community tank, but didn't have much luck (died unexpectedly). Been getting the monster fish bug again lately after downsizing the last few years or so and decided I wanted another wolf. This "dude" is quickly becoming one of my favorite fish. It was given feeders at that store, so I wasn't expecting much, but I threw some floating pellets in...some interest, but no go, so I threw in some FD krill and same thing. After that, I tried some cut tilapia and went right after it.

Doin' great so far. Nobody bothers anybody that I ever see except the bass bugging each other. Eating well, too. Some of the fins were damaged when I got it, but they're healing nicely.

That’s good to hear. Got some bruisers in that tank. How big is the tank?

8' 240. Trying to keep myself in check so I don't need a larger tank. At least not for a while. I had a 300 before, but it broke and I got rid of it.

I'd say it's right around 12". I bought him small at maybe 4" and it grew pretty quickly, but has slowed down. Absolute pig, lol, and eats everything from floating fd krill to sinking pellets. I've had a couple before, but none that ate as much and grew so quickly.

I noticed with mine once around 12", it would eat so much for a few months than go without eating for what felt like longer months. I didn't notice any slowing in growth through this until 15".
