micros can reach over 2 ffet in a year and a half...montreal does have snakeheads, get them at aquatropical 3 inch micros for 5.99...pretty dam good deal...i payed 20$ each for mine...dam rip off...too bad aqua dint have any in stock when i bought them
I got a 6" Hoplias malabaricus yesterday. It tore through 2 layers of plastic on my way home, and resulted in major leakage. I had brought an additional plastic bag along and I thought I can just dump the fish into the new bag. The fish won't allow me and got my finger. About 3 puncture holes and blood flowed out... (That is about the time when I realised I'm going to love this fish.) I had to go back to the owner's place, and he placed the wolf in a tank, and I had to carry the tank home. 
If you're talking about both fishes being the same size, I'll say the wolf will have a higher chance of winning. They will just swallow small preys. For preys too big, they bite, and immediately reel backwards and twist their body to tear the flesh off.
I have kept Channa micropeltes on quite a few occasions until they grew too big. they usually don't attack as long as it is too large. But they got a nasty temper which grows with their size.
If you're thinking of keeping them together, I think you are going to need LOTS of luck.

One word of advice on aquatropical...I also live near montreal and bought a couple "non expensive" fire eels there last spring. They both died within a week. My tank is large, well established, water specs are perfect, and my other fishes did not touch them. No sign of agression...
Obviously one cannot blame the store, it's like blaming a butcher for though meat...how can he know it's not tender...but still it made me scratch this store from my list. I like to go at Big Al's in pointe-claire, and sometimes Nature pet store also in pte-claire. You should give them a shot

i can always go to those places...but aqua is just the place for me i no a couple plp who work there get major deals, if i want feeders ill get 300 for 5 bucks...none of the fish i bought there have died...it really depends on the fish u buy according to me...u might find ureself buying fish that came in from thailand the night before and they die due too stress witin the next few days, i always inspect when im there cuz yes i agree the quality is not the best...but the prices are unmatched.
