Hoplias Malabaricus ( Bad Idea? )

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just curious to know if anyone knows what the wolffish is succeptable to as far as diseases I have bought two over the internet and they only lived two days. I tested my tanks just before they arrived and 20nitrate 0 nitrite 0 ammonia. And these are the only two fish that I have had die other than feeders or being killed by another fish. Any info would be appreciated.:nilly:

I have found when healthily they are one of the toughest fishes around. Like throw them in a toilet and they would live tough.

But if they are grouped together in transportor or at the LFS they can be less than nice to each other, and infection sets in to their wounds and well....... bad things happen. It was probably nothing you did wrong, the fish were probably just in bad shape and stressed out.

This is more in regards to Hoplias Malabaricus I am not to sure if Erythrinus erythrinus is more sensitive.

they both react bad to wounds, when also stressed with new environment.
