Picking up three 7"ers after work, does anyone else keep these? I've heard they're nocturnal, do they eventually start to come out while lights are on?

Heavily depends on variables - tank size, cover, tank mates, lighting intensity, etc.

My ten 8"-10"ers were totally different cats in a 240 gal and 4500 gal, scared and stressed without cover in a 240, whilst completely relaxed in a bare 4500.

They quarrel among themselves but are emboldened by their number.

I imagine they would look great in a school that size! Measured mine and two are 8" and one is 7", they hid for the first day but they're out constantly now in my 260 and the lighting is really bright.

Ur sunspots are pretty active. Mine just hides all day and active when the lights go out.

Nice, i have a chunky 12 incher, sometimes he is active and other times reclusive. Got him at about 7 inch maybe 3 years ago now... great under appreciated fish.

Yeah i've heard they grow really slow.. Mine are out and about constantly, they school with the barbs when they're out. It seems that they are really shy when kept alone, keeping them in numbers seems to give them more confidence.
