Nice female.

The large male just looks like a "normal" mota, not the red tiger variety?
He's all red tiger. The pics don't do him justice his spots are actually very red . He's a very mature male.

Gani, How did the small male react when you threw him in?

Seeing as it was the largest of three at 5.5 inches ( I assume Polo got them at the same size) I assume he is male... Also the vent says male to me. The color is another story not mosaic or anything. limited info as far as accurately sexing Cubans goes. By vent I would say male.

I am surprised that it haven't caused any trouble in your tank yet. Maybe, the grammodes is keeping it in check.

I can sex 2-3 of my < 2" tetracanthus, at 5.5", it should be pretty obvious? Then again I think I just got lucky. Obvious male/female juvi pairing is happening with 2 of them. They are already watching each other's backs and guarding part of the tank. The male's side spot is almost blending in with the rest of the body pattern and there is a lot of spangling in the fins. The female is more dark in the body with the side spot being very prominent. The front part of her dorsal is black as well.

great looking fish and awesome colors and size.
