Horrible!: 31 fish poisoned, hammered and stabbed to death!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i still say it's not right to immediately assume it's the parent's fault

at this point i think the 14 year old is mostly at fault. the 12 and 11 year old are just followers

at my school we have an out door pond system with koi and plants. There were a couple a stupid kids that took all the plants out and threw all of the koi at the school wall and they all died. Also later that year In the 275 fiddler crab tank there were goldfish in there and two kids(14) decided to throw them and kill them to "make it easier for the crabs to eat" and they didnt get in trouble. why are kids so stupid.

LOL @ blaming the parents. Some of the worst behaving kids I knew growing up had the best parents. It takes a village to raise a child, and some kids are just idiots by nature.

Hello; Our society has in many ways given a free pass on behavior to children. They do something wrong and often do not have to suffer some sort of punishment. When i began teaching a paddle could be used. That form of discipline was taken away along with other ways that society could deal with bad behavior of children. I was witness to the general demise of order in the public setting of schools and eventually into society in general.

^ agree

my wife's a social worker, she works with troubled children and teens. some are broken homes but some you would never guess by looking at the parents and their homes. the parents are hardworking blue collar people, some even doctors, business people and such

Ohhh so the problem is we can't paddle children anymore in public settings. Got it.

Hello; The issue is not strictly about paddling or some form of corporal punishment, it is more about the lack of any effective punishment in general. I did not enjoy using a paddle, but it was an effective and immediate way to keep order in a public school. After the paddle was removed as a discipline tool we teachers came up with other methods. It turned out that whatever method we developed was considered unplesant by someone and each altrnative method was in turn removed. Near the end of my time served in the public schools the students had me and the other faculty to basically play with as they saw fit. It got to the point of my not being able to give the students who were willing to learn anything remotely close to a decent learning environment. The roudy students would disrupt most of the class time almsot every day.

A small point on the use of a paddle. During the middle school and a few high school years of my teaching sentence, we had two recess breaks each day on the school grounds. I carried a paddle outside with me. The timid and smaller children would play in the distance but in my line of sight. They knew that I would keep the toughs and bullies off of them. After the paddle was removed I was no longer able to do so. It did not take the bullies long to understand that the game had changed. From then on i had the small and timid children following me around very close like baby ducks. They did not play so much. They did not like for me to leave long enough to take a bathroom break. In time even my physical presence was not enough as the situation worsened to the point that I was restricted from even talking harshly to the bullies.

Thats just messed up. Thank God the kids at my school arn't THAT bad. I go to a small private school so you would think we wouldn't have many problems, but for our biology class we were allowed to bring in fish for extra credit if they survived a whole semester (This helped get me back into the hobby, but thats a different story) and the kids would harrass the fish, but luckily no one used any poison or anything. If anyone had done anything like that to my danio's, I'd have to bust some skulls (JK, I'm a pacifist so that probably wouldn't happen lol).

Hmmmm...kids that don't think twice about being cruel to animals? Can you say antisocial personality disorder? Congratulations parents! Best case scenario you have raised your child to be insensitive and cruel.... Worst case scenario you're raising a future serial killer...
