Parents or not I am sure they could have waited a few more days to set up the salt water tank.
The fact raised you has no bearing on them killing your fish and not even being slightly remorseful but instead being extremely cheeky, rude even, and asking to loan money to pay for their truck.

They can afford to set up a salt water tank but not to pay to keep their own truck on the road??? WTH is up with that. Tell them NO and when they ask why tell them they should have waited a while before choosing to doom your rather expensive fish collection.

They should have asked you about moving the fish into the 55 before going ahead and messing with your fish after agreeing to keep them safe.
They should pay and be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

i would make them stock your new tank. they couldnt wait a week theres no call for that. i left my saltwater with my parents and they said they was taking care of it but didnt have let it crash and killed over $2,000 worth of coral and fish so they bought me a new tank to make up for it. family or not they owe you one.

once i got my fish out i was done paying and helping them out. im also done trying to convince them that you need to change water more than once a month. on a good note im gonna go look at the new tank tonight and pick up some marineland doublebright LEDs

Being family cuts people slack.. but not all of it. If my parents had accidentally killed my fish while watchign them. They'de be remorseful, and likely replace what they killed. It doesn't fix it.. but just being sorry would be enough. Just like if one of their pets died in my care I would be remorseful and try and rectify it best I could.

and I'de def kick my brother in the shins for telling my parents what to do with my fish. what your brother should have done is said "Call and ask Him"

But unfortunately whats done is done, I am sorry for your loses.

thanks for your condolensces everyone that was just the last in a long line of bad things to happen to my fish while in their care. last month someone fed the fish and borgot to put the lid back on correctly and my biggest endli jumped
