No camera's is unbelivable. You would think they would not get insurance if they did not have a camera system. They had some reptiles in the back and there was never anyone around when i was there.

So have they actually tested the water and found out what it was?

If it's chlorine you wouldn't need buckets or jugs etc. You can get them in tablet form and one tablet could do that amount of damage.

The same thing happened in a store in Alberta, Canada and it turned out the guy used atleast one dishwasher tabs apparently. I guess in that case the guy got caught, but this is just second hand info

My mum poured bleach in my fishtank once, so yeah its devastating, but I bet it was an employee who was either going to be fired, or was upset with the manager for some reason or another.

And it doesn't take that much, less than a tablespoon for thirty gallons of fish to die off, that's not even smellable concentration

This happens more and more as the economy suffers. I would have a look at their financial situation to get a better hint of what happened. Chances are they were going downhill and they knew it. What better than a ton of publicity and cash to rebuild their business. I remember when that one LFS was "vandalized and robbed" and exotic fish went missing. That was a clear inside job cmon.... noone breaks into a pet store to steal fish and vandalize the place.

you have to take whats said at face value but there is 4 people that own this shop and they claim its been successful for the 5 months they have been open. If they are already in that much financial trouble 5 months in, to where they consider killing off 700+ fish then they really arent fish people
