Really super pissed and frustrated right now. I bought 5 fish and was supposed to receive them today...UPS damaged the box somehow and some of the fish died....here is the part that gets even more ridiculous! The package was already in my city and only about 15 minutes from me, I called them immediately when I checked online and saw that it was damaged...they refused to deliver the remaining package to me, so I offered to even go pick it up as I told them it was LIVE FISH and they need to get in a tank ASAP. They refused and said they need to send the package BACK to the shipper and then air-ship it back to me!!???!! WTF??? What is the point of driving it back 1000 miles, then shipping it BACK here when I could have picked it up TODAY!??! The fish have already been in the box 2 days, and now that the box is damaged and they need to ship it back...there is a 99% chance I'm going to receive a box full of dead fish in the couple days.. WTF!?!!? What would you guys do? I spent a good deal of money on the fish and shipping and have NOTHING to show for it now.... WWYD?

PS. When I bought the fish I requested overnight shipping, the seller decided to ship it 2nd day without informing me before hand....

Don't do this.......

Well in a civilized country like germany, they would bust that crapshop. Hell its not even allowed here to send vertebrale animals via normal mail like UPS. Only certified animal transport companies are allowed to do that.

Go to UPS and demand a solution NOW. And stop posting nonsense here. Its about animals life!

Sounds like the problem started when your fish supplier didn't ship overnight like you requested, but 2nd day. That would be who got my first phone call.

And that solves what now? Its like Titanic did not send a distress call as she hit an iceberg, but send an Telegram to Southampton, that she had no binoculars available on board ...

Sorry, you are correct. OP, move to Germany where it is the land of rainbows and sunshine and all fish are magically transported with smiles on their little fishy lips by the greatest fish transporters who went to fish transport school just for you!!

Because the supplier is ultimately at fault here if they sent live fish second day, as opposed to the overnight which the OP paid for. Fish are regularly shipped this way in the US and arrive healthy and happy. UPS is tough to deal with as it is a large national company and they are bound by very strict guidelines, I'm not saying they're right, but that's how the company is run. The supplier should have shipped overnigth and theres a very large possibility this wouldn't be an issue. I would also call UPS and try to get the package and save what fish (if any) are left, but at this point it's quite possible they're all dead if they've been in a box for two days that was just damaged. Stop making absurd comments that are of no use to the OP.
