Horribly newbie native LMB question....

You have to have a permit or buy it from a pet store and save the reciept.

Transport of fish for display in a home aquarium is legal under the following conditions:
      1. Game fish purchased from an authorized licensee transported with the necessary documents (such as a sales receipt).
      2. Anglers 16 or under may transport legally caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass, black crappie, white crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, green sunfish, orange spotted sunfish, and black, yellow, and brown bullhead. No more than four of each species may be transported at any one time, and any individual fish can be no longer than 10 inches.
      1. At no time may water from infested waters be transported.

It should say 1, 2 and 3, it just came out weird when I posted it on here lol. On the pdf document it actually doesn't have any numbers.

Both are true. If you want a permit to collect native fishes, a permit can be applied for a native aquatics dealer for $90, the last time I checked.

I try and keep my natives as low as possible.

Lower is better. I like my tank about 69 but it's staying between 73-75 right now since I don't wanna run the air more than necessary. My bass and other natives seem just fine. They're all extremely active and eating well.

Your bass should be fine with just about whatever you keep them at within reason. I have a trough outside full of Sunnies and all kinds of shiners that gets up into the 80s (except for this years thanks to the monsoon season that has struck us) in the summer, and they do fine. Just need to keep lots of oxygen in the water. Remember High Temps=Low O2 carrying capacity in water.

Your wide ranging fish-most sunfish including bass, generally will do fine without any extra heating or cooling if they are kept inside. Down here we have all kinds of fish that will live the summer out in a tiny pool that is bath tub warm just waiting for a flood to flush it out. I wouldn't recommend a tank like that, but don't worry about killing a LMB because of temp.
