Oh I forgot Fright Night. That movie was awesome, along with Poltergeist, the saw flicks weren't bad. Touristas had a couple of good scenes but wouldn't give it a strong recommendation. Along the lines of Hostel/Wolf Creek but not as good. The underwater scenes were pretty cool though.
:iagree: Fright night was the shiznit, bizzle.

I would have to add that Zombie movies seem to be some of my favorites, I liked all of the original Night,Dawn,Day of the Dead, and all of the remakes ,Zombie,28 days later,Land of the dead,Sean of the dead,Return of the dead 1 and 2 but I had to cut it off after all of those crappy sci-fi channel "return of the living deads" they made, if you know any other good ones let me know!
:iagree: Zombie movies are my fav. also love all the ones you listed didn't like Land of the dead until i saw the uncut version on DVD

I forgot to mention Cabin Fever, great movie IMO. Hostel was also good, I'll be paying close attention to what director Eli Roth produces.

Eli Roth is pretty nuts. I think he's doing a the new hostle movie as well and apparently its suppose to be 'one of the goriest movies made. I dunno how true that is tho. But can't wait to see it.

Anyone seen any none english scary movies? I find japanese scary movies friggen scary as the usually involve, a female ghost, or a child ghost, OR a combination a little girl ghosts. And those three ghosts freak the hell outta me. The ring and ring 2. I was at my mates house watching it and left a nice brown stain on his couch.

I think most horror movies would be over in the first 5 minutes if the main characters had a 12ga. with 00 buckshot. Bang, Bang....and roll the credits...

There's a secret clip from Hostel 2 floating around the net, you can find it @ bloody-disgusting.com it's only like 15 seconds but it was practically raining blood while a girl in a bathtub was rubbing it all over herself.

I love the asian flicks, but not the ghost ones, I prefer their torture flicks like The Untold Story, Ichi the Killer, Battle Royale, Old Boy. Watched one last year called Entrails of a Virgin, that movie was so over the top I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

Forgot another one from my childhood, The People Under the Stairs. And someone mentioned Candyman...I LOVE that movie And Chucky is just nuts in the first 3 Child's Play movies, I hated Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky was a comedy :(

Also for the exploitation/splatter flicks, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and Murder Set Pieces are pretty good. I highly recommend Live Feed to anyone who enjoys the exploitation type of films, crazy yakuza gang type flick

I would like to see the Asian torture flicks, such as like you mentioned, Old Boy. I would also like to see Audition but just haven't been willing to throw down $20 for what I hear is an extreamly boring movie till the last few shots. I don't care for ghost movies though I did like The Ring and The Grudge but the sequals to both were crap. I saw the Japanese original for the Grudge "Ju-On" and honestly did not care for that either. Like I said, I'm not big on ghost flicks. I mostly like movies with lots of gore and a bit of humor thrown in always helps, zombie movies rank among my favorites.

Hostel: Part II is coming out June 8th, I saw a preview for it on Monday and the trailer some months ago. I'm really stoked about seeing it.

John Carpenters Vampire, Dracula, Dusk til Dawn, and for some lighter gore, Army of Darkness. Found the Ring and The Grudge very boring.

Old boy is more of a mental torture but there's an awesomely violent scene about halfway through with a hammer. I'd say it rivals the lawnmower scene in Dead Alive, just because it's a hammer and not high rotating blades.

Murder Set Pieces has a pretty disturbing scene in it, one of the only movies to make me go WTF. Live Feed is my favourite so far in the grungy torture flicks, partly because it's Canadian and also because it has things in it I've never thought of, and I spend most of my day thinking up torture scenes for my movie.

The Grudge I couldn't sit through, turned it off after about 20 minutes, was too boring for me, plus a horror w/ gellar just isn't going to be a proper horror to me. I don't like it when big names are in horror unless I get to see them tortured :D Never bothered w/ Ju-On but I did see about half of Ringu and what I saw I liked more than The Ring. I love the TV scene in the Ring though, one of my favourite scenes ever from a movie.

I'm getting my hopes up for hostel 2, which I don't want to do, usually when I get amped up for a movie, it disappoints, would like to go into it without any expectations.

i like friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street movies because they are funny but i know there are alot of horror movies out there that scare the **** out of me. when i watch a horror movie and go to bed and have a nightmare i know it was a good movie

I found the "Blair Witch Project" pretty scary... At least the last couple minutes of it. I was watching it at my friends house. I came home at around 9:00 and it was really dark out. I realized that I had to go down the street to let my neighbor's dogs out. I was so scared that I paid my sister $5 to come with me.
I also liked "Signs" and "The 6th sense." Although they're not all that scary, I feel that both have good plots.
