It is currently easier and much cheaper to packed horsefaces by the kilo, than to buy live ones individually.

Well that makes sense logically speaking. You catch a ton of them, throw them in a freezer, and take them to get sold. Keeping them alive involves a whole lot of other factors and even then the fish could just straight up die and there’s nothing you could do about it.

I love horseface loaches! I found one random one at a local shop a few months back and then ordered a half dozen more to keep the first one company. They are tiny and might be a different species than the first one. The bigger one has grown a fair bit but was enaciated when I got it so I don’t know if that’s their normal growth rate or if it was just catching up. I keep the tank at 78-79 degrees because one of my bettas lives in it.
