Canada eh?
hi, im building a cave with a bunch of flat rocks I have found and i was wondering if the glue from a hot glue gun (u know the ones for arts and crafts) would be safe in the water of the tank? im going to glue the rocks together with it, the rocks are heavy enugh that they probably wont fall even just being place ontop of each other but i wana be safe.

i think you would be safer with aquarium grade silicone. more expensive probably but at least you can guarantee it wont hurt your fish.

I agree, go with silicone....

Ya i checked it out, the aquarium silicone was like 15$ at big als... i reaserched sum other people who had done it on the web.. so i took a chance with the hot glue gun, worked great :) thanks 4 the replys

no need to get aquarium grade unless its structural... 10oz tube of 100% silicone is like $3 at the hardware store...

I can't say it WON'T work (never tried it), but I would worry that the glue would degrade and the rocks would fall off eventually. Could cause an injury. I would use aquarium epoxy, which is made to be wet all the time. Sounds like you already did it, though, so I hope it works out ok.
